ICAR – Indian Agricultural Research Institute

ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi is India's premier agricultural research and education institution. Established in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar), the institute later shifted to New Delhi and became one of the most respected agricultural institutions in Asia. It was granted Deemed University status by UGC and ICAR. IARI is popularly known as the “Pusa Institute” and played a major role in India's Green Revolution through the development of high-yield crop varieties and modern agricultural technologies. The institute offers B.Sc Agriculture, M.Sc, PhD, Biotechnology, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Pathology and Agricultural Engineering programs. Recently IARI entered the QS World University Rankings 2026 in Agriculture & Forestry, making it one of the globally recognized agricultural institutes from India
