Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is one of India's most prestigious and largest residential universities. Founded in 1916 by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya with the support of Annie Besant, BHU was established through the BHU Act of 1915 and has become a leading center for higher education, research, innovation, and agricultural sciences. The Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), BHU is among the oldest agricultural education and research institutions in India. Its journey began in 1931 as the Institute of Agricultural Research and later evolved into the College of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, and finally the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in 1980.
