About Banda University of Agriculture & Technology
Banda University of Agriculture & Technology (BUAT), Banda is a full-fledged State Agricultural University established in 2010 to serve the agricultural needs of the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. The university holds the unique distinction of being the First Agricultural University of Bundelkhand Region.
The university was created under the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture University Act with the objective of strengthening teaching, research and extension services in agriculture and allied sectors. BUAT primarily focuses on the seven districts of Bundelkhand, a region known for drought conditions, water scarcity and challenging agricultural environments.
The university works extensively on climate-resilient agriculture, dryland farming, water resource management, livestock development, horticulture, forestry and sustainable agricultural technologies suitable for Bundelkhand conditions. It plays a significant role in improving farmer livelihoods and rural development across the region.
BUAT offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs through its constituent colleges including the College of Agriculture, College of Horticulture, College of Forestry, College of Community Science, College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology and College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry.
The university campus covers nearly 948 acres and includes research farms, experimental fields, seed production units, laboratories, hostels, training centers, veterinary facilities and extension education infrastructure.
Today BUAT has emerged as one of the fastest-growing agricultural universities in Uttar Pradesh and continues to contribute significantly to agricultural innovation, drought management, farmer welfare and sustainable farming practices.
